Plaid & Polished: A Polo Ralph Lauren Theme

Aleisha's Take on a 'Polo Ralph Lauren' Themed Dinner or Bachelorette

April 15, 2025

Spring has sprung. Dust off your favorite dishes because there’s a new dinner party theme in town: Ralph Lauren.

You asked we delivered - blue, bears, silver, and more. Whether you’re hosting an elevated dinner party or a cozy gathering, here’s everything you need to bring a classic aesthetic to life.

AN ATTITUDE OF PLAID-ITUDE

Nothing says classic Ralph like a touch of plaid. Whether it’s a table runner, patterned napkins, or a wool throw draped on the back of each chair, embrace the lived-in look that adds a touch of refinement.

Pair your plaid accents with warm candlelight, rattan placemats, and linen napkins for a rustic aesthetic.

SILVER LINING

Make your table settings shine with your mom’s silverware (or a thrifted vintage set), and use silver catchall dishes for nuts, olives, or even place cards.

Add some extra shimmer with silver ice buckets with your favorite bottle of wine or NA beverages.

No Ralph Lauren dinner party is complete without a glimmer of silver.

SOMETHING BLUE

No Ralph Lauren party is complete without a pop of blue.

Finish off your table setting with vintage vases of blue hydrangeas fresh from your favorite market or grocery store.

Add another layer of color with blue glassware.

Before you buy new, shop your own cabinets. No blue glassware? Head over to your local thrift.

PLANNING A BACHELORETTE PARTY?

The perfect bach theme for Spring or Summer is the kind that involves sun dresses, linen, and anything Ralph Lauren. Here’s some ways you can tie Ralph into your friend’s special celebration:

A PLAID WELCOME

There's nothing Aleisha loves more than creating a unique welcome banner at a bachelorette party. Head to your nearest fabric store and search for the most tasteful version of plaid you can find (here's one she suggests). Then grab some white fabric and fabric glue OR opt for some white fabric paint to create your welcome phrase. If you have a Cricut, cutting the sign out of white permanent vinyl is another great option. Don't forget to bring some tape and string so you can hang the banner from the best spot you can find at your destination!

AN ICE BAR

When you need a break from festivities and want to chill (literally) find your favorite large container, grab some bottles of wine to chill on the rocks, and even include some fruits and oysters.

CUSTOM MATCHBOOKS

Everyone loves a party favor. Treat your bride or crew to some custom made matchbooks to celebrate after the party’s over.

TAKE IT A  STEP FURTHER:

Here are some additional hosting ideas that Aleisha would personally throw into the mix if it was within the party budget.

1. FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS

There can never be enough florals at a party! For a more cost-effective option, try to make the boquets on your own rather than having them made for you and delivered. I would personally opt for tons of light colored greens then mix in some white and light blue flowers.

2. TIE IT IN WITH TEDDY

While trying to come up with ways to tastefully tie in a teddy bear, the first thought that came to my mind was Teddy Grahams! I would serve them in silver coups for dessert or as an appetizer to tie in the iconic Ralph Lauren teddy bear.

3. CROQUET ON THE LAWN

In need of an activity? The first thing that comes to mind is Croquet! If it's in the budget, grab a playing set and set it up so that guests can have something to do outside of eating and drinking. Want to take it a step further? Grab a horse trophy or blue ribbon to award to the best player of the night or weekend!
