Of all stores in Austin, Maufrais is my all-time favorite. It's chic-Texan, minimalist and dessert style makes you feel like you're truly in the heart of Texas culture. It's authentic hat collection makes it a must-do on your trip to this Southern city. From Stetson's to completely custom-made pieces, this store has the ability to make you stand out in a crowd. They do custom decorations and even offer to burn the felt on the hat to give it a unique color. In the back of the store you can also find a small, curated collection of vintage clothes, furniture, and decor. |
That's Not All |
Head just a few stores down to the historic Allen's Boots store where you'll find even more hats, true cowboy boots, and belt buckles. This was the traditional store for cowboys - and although it can be a bit touristy now, it's worth peeking in! |
