About By Aleisha
By Aleisha is a San Francisco–based retail brand that sells hand-illustrated map artwork and travel-inspired goods. We have an office in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood as well as storefronts in the San Francisco Ferry Building, Palm Springs, and Yucca Valley. Our small team works closely together in the studio to fulfill online and wholesale orders, keep our studio organized and well-stocked, and support our retail presence around the city.
About the Role
We're hiring a Studio Manager to be the day-to-day operations lead in our Dogpatch studio. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who loves keeping things organized, takes ownership of their work, and can confidently keep the studio running smoothly — especially when the founder is traveling for business.
You'll work directly with Aleisha and manage one other studio team member, while also coordinating with our Ferry Building store employee on weekly inventory hand-offs. The right person is proactive, dependable, and comfortable making decisions without needing constant direction.
What You'll Do
• Fulfill online orders from studio inventory, accurately and on schedule.
• Fulfill wholesale orders for retail partners — many have detailed requirements, so the ability to follow instructions precisely is essential.
• Run regular inventory counts in the studio and maintain accuracy; flag when products are running low and need to be reordered.
• Keep Aleisha informed when it's time to reorder office supplies, product packaging materials, and retail products.
• Coordinate with our Ferry Building store employee to prep and pack inventory each week — including barcoding, pricing, counting, and packaging products correctly for in-store display.
• Manage one other studio employee — keep them on task and focused on the right priorities.
• Own the weekly to-do list and keep the studio running independently when Aleisha is out of town on business trips.
What We're Looking For
• Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized — accuracy matters in this role.
• A self-starter with strong decision-making skills who is comfortable taking the lead.
• Excellent at following written and verbal directions, especially for detailed wholesale orders.
• Reliable, communicative, and able to manage your own time and a small team.
• Prior studio, small business, or operations/fulfillment experience.
• Retail or wholesale experience — comfortable with packing, barcoding, pricing, and vendor orders.
• Basic tech skills — comfortable using tools like Shopify, Google Sheets, and email to manage day-to-day operations.
• Must be located in San Francisco and able to commute reliably to the Dogpatch studio.
Nice to Have
• Experience supervising or mentoring another team member.
• Familiarity with small-batch product brands, e-commerce fulfillment, or wholesale operations.
